About WM Enterprise

History

The company was founded in 1982 as a venture capital organisation.  The consultancy operation was subsequently established in 1986.  Whilst the investment division activities are concentrated in the Midlands, South East and North West of England, the economic development and regeneration consultancy covers the whole of the UK, Central and Eastern Europe and beyond.

Structure

WM Enterprise has two strands to the business, consultancy and investments.  The consultancy business is divided into a two divisions.  The UK Consultancy Division undertakes economic development and regeneration consultancy for a variety of public sector clients.  These include Local Authorities, RDAs, LSCs and regeneration partnerships.

The International Consultancy Division undertakes a wide variety of economic and regional development consultancy.  The division has completed over 500 European Commission funded projects as well as work for other major donors.

The Investments Division is primarily concerned with fund management.  WM Enterprise* has ceased investing its own funds and now concentrates on managing and advising venture capital funds.  The division currently has four funds under management and is looking to raise further funds.  The funds are differentiated by geographical area, size of investment and stage/type of investment made.  To date WM Enterprise has raised over £92 million and has invested more than £50 million.
